Steps to start a chat:

  1. Select START VCL CHAT button.
  2. A chat window will appear on your screen.
  3. Fill in your information in the chat window for our responder. The "Self-check Quiz Ref. Number" may already be filled in for you.
  4. When you have filled in your information, select the Start Chatting button.
  5. You will soon be connected to the next available responder to begin chatting.

If you are unable to connect with a chat responder or have lost your connection, please dial 988 then press 1 from your phone, or text 838255 from your mobile device to get assistance from Veterans Crisis Line.
